Here are just some of my many favorites from Three Potato Four. Not only are the products irresistible, they are photographed in the most beautiful way, as you can see. Looking through their webshop I don’t think there’s one product I wouldn’t want in my home. I love the colors in this tea towel above and the cheerful tray below. And how cute are the notebook and the bird vases below?

Tomorrow we are hopefully going to the Ikea in Haparanda, Sweden to finally buy a new couch. Have a great weekend, see you next week!

Here are a couple of images I’ve had in my inspiration file for a while now. I like the mix of white, black and neutral colors with wood. Nothing jumps out of these images but they are far from being boring. Just very simple and peaceful, not to mention very beautiful.

We updated our links page yesterday, you can find links to our favorite home and interior decorating blogs there as well as a few of our favorite shops. Like Shiny Squirrel, where you can find Alyson Fox’s amazing work. Here are a couple of images of her original work from Shiny Squirrel and prints available at Keep Calm Ltd. I am a huge fan of Alyson Fox’s work. I love her style, especially those beautiful and interesting female characters she draws.

You all probably know that we have our own little garden on our kitchen window sill. The very first herbs we planted were sage and lemon balm. One pot per plant. After two weeks we planted more herbs: more sage and lemon balm and some mini tomatoes. Soon, we noticed that the sage we planted later grew much quicker than the sage we planted first.

During the summer we have observed our sage pots closely. The sage, or should I say “sage”, that we planted first (in the white pot) looks totally different from the other one (in the yellow pot)! It has long stem and small leaves with sleek edges. The real sage has much larger leaves that are furry and have round serrated edges. There hasn’t been much other kind of action in the “sage” pot, but lately small new leaves have been peeking the air next to the “sage”. And the new leaves look just like the real sage’s leaves! This is very bizarre because all the sage seeds are from the same sachet. Apparently there were one or two stowaway seeds among the sage seeds.

Today I took the “sage” pot and looked and smelled the leaves of the unknown plant. Katja told me to pull off the “sage”. Once I grabbed the stem and pulled, the whole contents of the pot followed. The alien plant couldn’t be removed without dismantling the whole dirt clod. So, we decided to leave the “sage” in its place because it looks quite nice as it is. After I put the pot back on the window sill, I noticed a strong scent of something familiar. I smelled my fingers. Oregano! Alive and kicking oregano! Yeah, it can be something else too, but it sure smells like oregano. We’ll let the “oregano” be and grow in the sage pot for the rest of the summer. In addition, we have observed that oregano seems to be stronger plant than sage.

Update: Title of this post got an indefinite article.

One of my very favorite AshleyG prints is the beautiful For the Birds above. I don’t actually have it yet. We have some lovely AshleyG prints that we both love but I’m yet to talk Minna into us getting this one. For some reason she doesn’t seem to be too fond of birds with human faces while I could not adore this print more! Merging two people’s belongings and decoration taste into decorating one apartment has been surprisingly easy for us, but this is one issue where we disagree. I guess we’re lucky that our disagreement is over a piece of art and nothing too serious. But still, I want that print! And now I find out that For the Birds is also available in a larger size! (The print measures 13″ x 19″ which is about 33 x 48 cm.) I wonder if I could talk Minna into us buying that instead?
