String Pocket

I think I’ve found my ideal bookshelf! String Pocket by Nisse Strinning is a shelf system first introduced in 1949. This red shelf first caught my eye in some interior decorating magazine but I think that the shelf system looks even more stunning in white. In Finland you can buy String Pocket shelfs at Artek stores and at Misto lifestyle shop. Look here for resellers in other countries.

It is one of the great frustrations of my life (seriously. I guess that means I have a pretty good life!) that there are NO String shelf distributers in the US. None! The VAT and shipping to buy from Europe is insane (more than double the cost of the shelves), but I may just break down eventually and do it.
