Wishlist for Autumn

Sometimes I feel bad about making so many visual wishlists – it makes me wonder if I really am that greedy and materialistic. But then again I have to remind myself that I hardly ever buy anything on those lists, it’s nice to just admire things and find inspiration from them. So, here’s what my wishlist looks like right now. That animal calendar is just too cute and that ring is so delicate and beautiful! I also wish we’d have the opportunity to travel to Ireland soon, take a little holiday, just the two of us. I’ve never been to Ireland but have always wanted to go and I’m happy that Minna is equally interest in going. Maybe next year we’ll finally make the trip? I hope so! So, what’s on your wishlist?

Shirt from H&M, ring from Kate Szabone, Animals 2009 Calendar from MoMA Store, Lumimarja fabric in Grey from Marimekko and Angular Could Print by Betsy Walton. (Map of Ireland image from lonely planet)

My Obsessions

Holly at decor8 wrote a fun post about all the obsessions she has right now and asked her readers to share their current obsessions with her. So I decided to share a few of my current obsessions with you.

For a while now I’ve been absolutely obsessed with house plants. Especially different kinds of succulents but also with house plants in general. Taking care of the plants is a great way to cope with stress and they are just so lovely looking and full of life, I love looking around the apartment and seeing all that green. Today I treated myself to a beautiful new plant (above), it’s the same kind of plant we already have on the kitchen shelf, only much smaller.

Favorite music, new and old. I bought this cute new Jenny Lewis CD today while in town, Tegan and Sara’s The Con has been one of my favorite albums for a while now but I never can get enough of it. I’m not a musical person myself, I can’t sing or play an instrument but I do love to listen to music (and when I’m home alone I love singing along to it, even if I do it very very badly and out of tune).

Jenni Rope’s work. I have written about her lovely Any Plans For The Weekend? book before and last week I bought this tiny Wednesday book by her. I adore her style of drawing so much!

I’m also a bit obsessed with updating my favorites on flickr. There is so much inspiration out there!

One last thing I am obsessed with is light! Daylight, that is. Summer isn’t my favorite season but I do adore all that light, it’s easy to take photographs in natural light. And as much as I am enjoying the autumn colors in nature and being able to wear comfy and warm clothes I miss the light so much.

So, let us know, what are your obsessions right now?

I love photographer Joanna Henderson’s work and this isn’t actually the first time I’ve featured it here on our blog. So here are a couple more images from her portfolio. I absolutely adore the cheerful image above and how cute is that kitchen below? Such a cute space and unusual color for a kitchen!

On Our Walls

I was thinking about making a mobile, maybe finding a branch and painting it white and then hanging these paper decorations from it. But for now, before I get around to it, I hung them from the lamp in the livingroom. I know it’s a bit silly and looks more suitable for a children’s room but I like how playful and cheerful it looks.

I was tagged by Kimberley to show what’s on my walls so here are a couple of pictures for you. I’m sorry about the lack of light in these – it’s been a grey and cloudy day. I guess I better get used to the disappearing light now that summer is gone.

I’m not going to tag anyone but if you want to play along, please show us what’s on your walls!
