The last few days I’ve been painting, cutting and pasting. Just playing around with colors and shapes, maybe trying to figure out something for Christmas cards, mostly just having fun. I hope you’re having a fun week too, even if it’s cold and grey outside like it’s here!

How amazing is this home styled by Sofie Andersson (via desire to inspire)? White and simple, yet full of lovely details and little bits of color, beautiful furniture and a gorgeous kitchen! It’s so stylish, yet very comfortable looking, I just adore it. It’s definitely my current crush, you know the one you compare all the other interiors to, the one you dream about having for yourself. So, do you have interior design crushes?

On Sunday afternoon we took a little walk on the beach. It was so windy and cold that we couldn’t stay out for long but here are a few pictures we took. It was the last minutes before dark and the horizon was a lovely shade of pink.

Another Pair of Mittens

I finally finished Katja’s green mittens on last Thursday evening. During the weekend I began to knit a pair for myself. Here are a couple of photos of my project in its early stages. Because there was some left-over yarn from Katja’s mittens, I decided to put a green stripe on my yellow mittens.

I have knitted several mitten and wool sock pairs in my life but now I think I have found the perfect yarn and knitting needle combo for mittens. The Novita Isoveli (“bigger brother”) yarn is so soft but quite thick, so the result is warm mittens. Novita 7 Veljestä (“seven brothers”) yarn suits better for wool socks because it’s slightly thinner – thus the socks aren’t too warm. I like that my feet are warm, but I hate it if my toes are boiling. Novita’s yarns are great because they won’t shrink in a washing machine.

Afternoons At Home

Lazy afternoons at home. I am learning to knit. Lissu likes to help. I’m kind of obsessed with cooking with paprika and zucchini. I could eat them at every meal! And lately it seems I have. Yesterday we ate them with salmon for dinner (yum!), today I ate them with pasta for lunch.

Have a happy friday everyone! See you next week!
