If you are running behind a bit like me and haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet (eeek! November just flew by and I’m not prepared for the holidays at all!), this weekend is the perfect time to start, thanks to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Many of the sellers at Etsy are taking part in this sale and are offering special holiday promotions in their shops this weekend.

I came across this photo when sorting out my photo files and I just had to share it with you. This tiny vintage Arabia egg cup is one of my favorite thrift store finds ever. We haven’t had the time to go thrifting in a while so unfortunately I don’t have any new finds to share with you. Have you found anything nice recently?

Maybe it’s the fact that Christmas is just around the corner and all the shops are full of glittery Christmas decorations and ornaments but I’ve all of the sudden started to like things (mostly art) with a bit of gold and glitter on them. Some years ago when my decorating style was a bit different I loved all things glittery and flowery and such, but then I just felt like I had had enough of it and it was time for a change. I still don’t like gold and glitter if they are done in a too romantic or ornate way but if the design is simple enough I think it looks absolutely beautiful, like in the art above.

Snow white and lovely sky blue, the colors of perfect winter days. We haven’t been able to enjoy them here (it’s been weeks of grey grey grey, both in the sky and on the ground) but thankfully there’s Flickr and all the inspiration it offers.

It seems to be a seasonal thing, for a few years now around November I suddenly get this urge to knit. I’m not very good at it, I can only manage simple things, but I enjoy it anyway. Last year I started making a blanket (it’s still not finished, all the renovation stuff last winter got in the way of knitting…) and this year I’m making a scarf for Minna. (Then I’ll finish that blanket, I promise).
