Maybe it’s the fact that Christmas is just around the corner and all the shops are full of glittery Christmas decorations and ornaments but I’ve all of the sudden started to like things (mostly art) with a bit of gold and glitter on them. Some years ago when my decorating style was a bit different I loved all things glittery and flowery and such, but then I just felt like I had had enough of it and it was time for a change. I still don’t like gold and glitter if they are done in a too romantic or ornate way but if the design is simple enough I think it looks absolutely beautiful, like in the art above.
Home Sweet Home from Nice Package, Circus Violet and The Gang 2 prints from Studio Violet, Gold Gocco Deer Planter from Cindy Tomczyk and Little Bloom from essimar.

The pastel and gold deer is adorable. Very cute. I’ll go to check out the etsy shop right away. I also love the work by Ez from Creature Comfort in her new store, stylish packaging! Have a great end of the week!
I love the deer planter and the Little Bloom prints. I think a touch of glitter is perfect around the holidays. It’s cheerful.
oo.. i love that little bloom card & essimar’s etsy shop.
Thank you for putting this into words. I feel the same way! I was beginning to think I did not like flowers, sparkle and frill either. But it turns out, like you, I just prefer a modest amount of it! I also appreciate how you mix organic things, like branches or feathers or leaves, with modern patterns and color. It softens and blends everything so beautifully. That is what I like about the art you chose today, too, it is embellished yet still earthy. You strike a nice balance.
It’s lovely to see some sparkly things that aren’t over-the-top. I’m really pleased with how pale blue/green, pearl, cream and pale pink are in style this Christmas without seeming like little girls’ clothes.
Also, my girlfriend and I have begun our own blog (largely inspired by yours and similar ones). I’ve included the website, please have a look! It’s very young still, but we’re pleased with it.
I smiled as I was reading your post on your old apartment – it was all too familiar to me. When we first moved in all our furniture was white or white washed. It really didn’t suit our 1950’s blonde brick flat, perhaps in a beach house or a shabby chic cottage but not here.
I felt a bit nostalgic thinking about all the weekend we spent painting it all -we’ve handed them down to our siblings now :)
I like subtle hints of gold too.
ooh, I love this selection!!
These are so cute ! I wish you a wonderful Christmas time!
