Curtains

Finally, after living in our new home since February, we have curtains in the livingroom. They are the same ones from Ikea that we had in our previous home. It just took us months to get the curtain rod up and then a few more months until we got around to hanging the curtains up!
We’ve lived here for over 8 months now but we still think about this home as our ‘new home’. Maybe because it’s still very much a work in progress – there’s still some renovation stuff to be done later on when we have the time (maybe next summer holiday?) and the money for it. Some days seeing all the unfinished things drive me crazy and they are all I can see, no matter how nice I try to decorate around them. When that happens I grab my camera and focus on the little things that make me happy in our home and leave all the unfinished things and stress out of frame.

On se kyllä kumma noitten verhojen kanssa. Mekin ollaan vasta kahdet verhot saatu ripustettua vaikka ollaan aika lailla vuosi asuttu. Olohuoneessa on vielä vanhan asukin verhot, muista huoneista ollaan otettu kokonaan pois. Varmaan viimeisenä laitetaan verhot, niitten valintakin on niin vaikeaa. Tuonne ei olla ostettu vielä yksiäkään.
Ja tsemppiä remontin keskellä asumiseen! Jotenkin ne keskeneräiset asiat vaan vaivaa ja osuu silmään, vaikka ympärillä olisi kaikkea kivaa :)
They look so good…and fit in so well in your home. I don’t think a home should ever be done, there should always be things that need to be fixed or changed or redone to make life interesting.
PS, love all your little platters that make your arrangements look so complete.
Don´t worry about it. I have a room, that is like all thing room. I need to put it properly ok, but don´t find time or money or not inspired. For more than 3 years!
Need to sit and look at it with good eyes.
Lovely curtains.
Oh, every home is a permanent work in progress, isn’t it? At least, he he, that’s what I keep saying to myself mantra-style when I look at the unfinished 70% in our apartment and then all of a sudden remember that we’ve been living here for like… 3′5 years now… *shudder*
But, yay, the day will come, I know it…
(and I don’t know how much percent of your home you usually let out of frame… but, seriously, the parts you do display just look awesome and terrific well put together – imho)
You’re doing much better than me :) I’ve lived in a new apartment each year for the past 8 years & STILL have no curtains, haha
I think the curtains look really nice! The funny thing is though, I have the same curtains (in orange) in my bedroom and I think they look dumb…maybe I need to give them a good wash and iron and see how they look afterwards.
Good idea, to focus on the little things…i need to take that advice too :) I still need curtains in my dining room, I’m just too picky, indecisive or both. Your curtains look nice though.
