Knitting
It seems to be a seasonal thing, for a few years now around November I suddenly get this urge to knit. I’m not very good at it, I can only manage simple things, but I enjoy it anyway. Last year I started making a blanket (it’s still not finished, all the renovation stuff last winter got in the way of knitting…) and this year I’m making a scarf for Minna. (Then I’ll finish that blanket, I promise).

Minä olen huomannut myös, että kutimet pysyvät paremmin kädessä näihin aikoihin. Viime vuonna lahjapaketteihin pujahti yhtä sun toista villaista, mistä syystä joulun jälkeen ei tehnyt enää mieli neuloa.
Minullakin on muutamia ajatuksia, mitä tehdä seuraavaksi. En vain ole vielä löytänyt sopivaa lankaa.

I think knitting fever is in the air.
I do not knit but I like seeing the end result when others do knit, so I can’t wait to see that.

Minullakin tuo jokavuotinen kutomisinto tulee, mutta yleensä jo elo-syyskuussa, jonka jälkeen se alkaa pikkuhiljaa laimentua, ja nyt ei enää kiinnosta koko homma pätkääkään. :) Tänä vuonna menin kuitenkin sen verran pitkälle hommissani, että sain jopa muutaman villasukan VALMIIKSI, mikä on hyvin erikoista, koska minullakin tuppaa kaikki jäämään kesken.
I’m with ya on the ambition outstripping ability thing. Nonetheless, your work looks beautiful and I LOVE that colorway!
Oh, and I’ve told myself that joining Ravelry would a good motivator to do more knitting. Myself is not quite convinced but it might work for you?

Love this shot! I am doing a lot of knitting and crocheting right now too. I find crocheting so much easier. Knitting is hard.
Same here, I get the urge to knit as it gets cooler!
I joined ravelry too in hopes that it would rekindle my love of knitting and crocheting but I just ended up with alot of unfinished socks and hats :P

Täällä myös, erityisesti näin tenttiaikana kiinnostaa kovasti noi lankahommat. Löysin kovan etsinnän jälkeen mukavan ohjeen, jota nyt harjottelen, ja toivottavasti saan aikaan kelvolliset lapaset kummitytölle:) yleensä oon aika kriittinen aikaansaannoksistani (ellei niitä ole huovutettu eikä neulejälki näy;)), mut katotaan miten käy nyt!
Ihanat värisävyt tässä kuvassa, kaikki sopii yhteen niin hyvin. :) Minullakin se neulemisinnostus tuntuu tulevan ja menevän vähän kausittain. Nyt se on tosin ollut päällä jo pidemmän aikaa, jospa se ei pois menisikään!

i’m like you with the knitting — i’m making a scarf right now and it’s sort of lumpy and uneven, but i’m still enjoying making it… especially if i can sit in front of the fire while i do it!
(your little needles and lovely, soft wool are making me want to make another scarf :)
