Something New

We have something new to share with you both in and out of blog. First the outside news: we have both gotten very excited about analog photography, especially black and white photography. There’s something special about shooting on film. You will probably see more film photos in Nestled In in the future too as we get more practice with both shooting and developing.
Then the blog related news: from now on our replies to your comments will be shown on a light green background within the comments feed so that they stand out a bit more. I’ve posted an example comment to this post.

Our comments will look like this. :)
Lovely idea to return to analogic photos. I have my old camera ready again. I should play a bit more with it. Unfortunately, grey is the only colour here and no inspiration… maybe this weekend.
Aivan ihania kuvia… Itse joskus yliopistolla vietin pitkiä päiviä pimiössä. Oli niin mukavaa puuhaa. Missä kehitätte kuvat jos kehitätte itse?
I’m looking forward to your new photography adventures! I believe good black & white photography is hard with a digital camera, so turning to analog may be a good idea. What kind of camera do you have?
I also have some old cameras at home that I thrifted, a few polaroid cameras and some other (automatic) ones, but so far I’ve never come to the point of seriously finding out more about them and the type of film they require. Oh, time… it’s never enough! ;)
there is something special with shooting film! these shots are beautiful! did you develop them yourself?
I love the second shot so much.
I enjoyed Mİnna’s analog photos on her flickr The other day and I am glad that you’ll have them on blog too.
I like the ability to be able to use basic HTML here. Keep up the good work around blog, much enjoyed, as always!
Thank you all for your comments!
Jutta & Celine – We develop B&W films ourselves, we just got the equipment and chemistry a few weeks ago. We put films into developing tank in the basement storage room and do the rest in the bathroom. With color films we use a local photo lab.
Ninainvorm – We have a 35mm Nikon EM SLR and for medium format we’ve got a Kiev 60. Someday I want to get a Hasselblad or Mamiya!
gorgeous is all I can say!
I “returned” to film five years ago, after becoming more and more disillusioned with the lack of self-discipline I had allowed myself to develop shooting digital. Film makes me take my time and think about the hows and the whys – and now nothing makes my heart sing like picking up a packet of negatives/slides, and discovering how they turned out! :-)
How fun! I’m a huge fan of film photography and still shoot it as much as possible. Digital just doesn’t compare. I used to develop and print my own film too and miss it so much. I look forward to seeing your work!
Filmi on kyllä verratonta ja nämä teidän otoksenne niin tunnelmallisia! Minä lainailen aina koulun hasselia kuvaukseen mutta ikävä kyllä omaa kameraa ei ole, haaveissa kyllä.
Hello! I just discovered your blog. It is truly lovely! It has been a real visual treat going through your archives. I will have to put your blog on my list! Thank you. Your home is beautiful!
Ooh, siis teillä on oma pimiö. Aivan mahtavaa!
Your photography is so lovely =)
These are incredibly beautiful. Makes me want to pull my baskets of manual cameras down off the shelves…
Thank you all for your lovely comments. We are recommending everyone to start (or restart) film photographing. It’s fun and challenging.
