Wishlist For The New Year

December can get a bit crazy with all the Christmas preparations and visits and traveling, shopping and making gifts, projects ending at school or at work, and just the general end of the year busyness, but thankfully January is quite the opposite. All the holiday celebrations behind us it feels wonderful to get back into the everyday life. The new year always feels like a fresh start, a good time to re-evaluate and re-organize your life a bit, maybe even make some resolutions (whether you keep them or not). We have thought about some goals for this year, and the biggest one is to get our home more organized. Our home is small, the rooms are quite tiny and the ceilings low so it can all look very cluttered very quickly, so everything needs to have their own place.
We also have some planning to do this year – we still have many projects (the stairs, the basement, the front and back yards, and lots of smaller projects around the apartment) left to do, we just have to sit down and figure out how we want to do them and how much it will cost and in what order we should get to them. We won’t have the budget to do all of them in 2010 but it’s good to map them out anyway.
A little New Year’s wishlist: Time and Space print set from My Folk Lover, mouse pad from Shim + Sons, metal bowl from Niki Jones, Archive boxes from Muji, masking tape from LemonTree, Ikea PS Sticka blanket from Ikea, Block lamp from Design House Stockholm and Ginkgo in Snow & Olive fabric from Ink & Spindle.

love that mouse mat and the ginko fabric is lovely-off to browse!
You are so right about re-evaluating and re-organizing in the beginning of the year….January is just like a little start again with thoughts and wishes and ideas for the new year…your wishlist has so many nice on it..I love the Muji archive boxes..and ordered this fabric from the lovely Melbourne based ladies and sewed pillows out of it..It is such good quality of fabric…
Have a great start into the new year…
I am definitely on the same boat. I feel like I need to get all my things in order and get organized for the new year. I guess new beginnings do that.
I really love that tape. I just got some from Christmas that is flowerey purple and I am using it for all my packages so I have looking into getting some more. Thanks for the link!
So many great choices on your list. I have some of the fabric that you listed – it is wonderful. :)
I call it the purge. Where you hand over your old stuff and make room for what’s to come.
Happy New Years to you both :) !!
I love those houses in the drawings, so pretty. They remind me of the movie, Days of Heaven which I just watched last night. You guys would love it, it is just so beautiful.
What a stunning array! We are also planning renovations this year and am loving your wishlist items. Can’t wait to see what all becomes of them ;-)
A perfect list i think, i love those archives boxes, I wish we could get muji in Australia! I am so looking forward to what you come up with this year for your lovely home!
hey thank you for including my houses in your wish list!
Happy New Year :)

I love everything you have there. So modern but comforting at the same time.
Great selection. I love that Ginko print, havn’t seen it before and I am crazy about those ginko leaf shapes. I saw spoons in Copenhagen last summer shaped like a ginko leaf.
