The sun is out and the days are getting milder and there’s a promise of spring in the air even with all the snow we still have. I’ve been looking around our home, thinking about making little changes to welcome the new season. But looking at these pictures I realize that our home has been in spring colors for many months now, I guess it’s no wonder that my favorite colors reflect my favorite season.

Today is the first day of my week long winter break from school. I have no big plans, only a pile of books from the library. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend the week! I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather for the past few days so a couple of quiet days at home sound perfect.
Thank you Katie for featuring our art wall on your blog and a big thank you to Klikk.no for including Nestled In on their list of best interior blogs!

March is here and for me that means that it’s time to start looking forward to spring. Outside it’s still snowy and white but the bright spring colors in our kitchen make the wait a bit easier. It’s been a really nice winter but now I’m looking for the first signs of spring and for the first green to appear in nature after so many months. Until then I’m enjoying the potted herbs we bought for the kitchen, they’re such an easy and inexpensive way to bring a bit of green inside.

A few more pictures from the weekend, looks like I spent a lot of time in the kitchen. I think that the kitchen is the heart of the home, it’s my favorite room. And even though our kitchen is lovely it’s also unfortunately a bit small, I’d love to have a bigger one or a dining room so we could have people over for dinner more. In my Dream House we’d have a great big kitchen in the middle of the house and a dining room too, it would be perfect for dinners, board games and sewing and crafting projects that take up space. I guess it’s always good to have something to dream about!
In a completely unrelated matter, if anyone is using a feed reader service (RSS or Atom) and having problems with our photos not showing up, please let us know so we can try to fix it. And speaking of feed readers, if you use them would you mind sharing what you use and how you like it? I’ve been meaning to (finally!) start following all the (many) blogs I read that way instead of just visiting each blog to check if it’s been updated (so old fashioned, I know!).

Another cold weekend makes me dream of a short holiday somewhere a bit warmer. Traveling isn’t in our plans (or budget) right now but I can entertain myself by checking the current weather conditions in my dream travel destinations anyway, they all look good: Dublin -1 C, San Francisco +11 C, Seattle +7 C. Where would you travel right now if you had the chance?
