On Our Walls

I was thinking about making a mobile, maybe finding a branch and painting it white and then hanging these paper decorations from it. But for now, before I get around to it, I hung them from the lamp in the livingroom. I know it’s a bit silly and looks more suitable for a children’s room but I like how playful and cheerful it looks.

I was tagged by Kimberley to show what’s on my walls so here are a couple of pictures for you. I’m sorry about the lack of light in these - it’s been a grey and cloudy day. I guess I better get used to the disappearing light now that summer is gone.

I’m not going to tag anyone but if you want to play along, please show us what’s on your walls!

Etsy Finds

I often forget that Etsy is not only for finding beautiful and affordable art but for anything handmade. So this time I searched Etsy for wallets and wristlets. Here are some of my favorite! And just like my favorite Etsy art finds, these too are beautiful and affordable!

I also added a new category to the blog today. I write about my favorite Etsy finds so often and yet we don’t have a proper category for Etsy! So here is the new category, I’ll be adding all our previous Etsy related posts to the category sometime today.

Above: Wallet in Moss Martini from Jenna Lou, Butterfly Purse from Nonsuch.

Mini Snap Wallet from J L Stephens, Forest Tree Trunk Wristlet from littleoddforest.

Sketchbook Zipper Pouch from LouLouBell, Wristlet in Eggplant Buttercups from Jenna Lou.

Mitsuru Koga

Recently I’ve been fascinated by the idea of using rocks as decorative objects. It’s a nice way to bring some nature from outside inside the home. I have been admiring these eyelet covered rocks by little birds and these wonderful little drawings on rocks Geninne has done. You can also find inspiration for decorating with rocks from here and here. So you can imagine my delight when I found out (via desing for mankind) about Mitsuru Koga who makes these beautiful little objects out of sea stones. How lovely are these?!

A Good Day For Making Things

It’s Friday, the sun is finally out and what a difference it makes. I’ve spent the day dreaming and planning, cutting and drawing. It’s a good day to make things and plans.

“I read a lot as a kid”

I Read A Lot As A Kid

It’s been a great productive morning. I woke up early with Minna (she had work) even though it’s my day off and I had no plans to go anywhere. I haven’t been much of a morning person before but I think I’m having a change of heart. Once the hard part (waking up) is done with there’s so much potential in every morning and I feel more productive than I do in the evening. So this morning I’ve been making small collages on the covers of old books and doing household work and enjoying my day off.
